Benchmarking Energy Usage - What to Bring
and Requirements
Facility data collection, profiling & benchmarking; analyzing building
energy use; initial screening for opportunities & modeling building
performance. Hospitals, municipalities, state and private building
owners will be able to use this tool as well.
Basic Building Information Needed:
To be eligible to receive an energy performance rating on EPA's
Portfolio Manager, Hospitals must meet the following criteria:
At least 50% or more of the facility's gross floor area (not including
Garages and Parking Lots) must be comprised of an eligible space.
The floor gross floor area must be greater than or equal to 20,000
square feet, but no more than 5,000,000 square feet.
The total area of all Computer Data Center space(s) cannot exceed 10%
of the total building space (not including Garages and Parking Lots).
The floor area for all "Other" space types cannot be greater
than 10% of the facility's gross floor area. Gross floor area includes
the floor area for all space types excluding Garages and Parking Lots.
The floor area of all Garages cannot exceed 100% of the gross floor
area of the entire facility.
The facility must have at least 16 licensed beds, but no more than
1,510.
The facility must contain no more than 40 floors.
At least 11 full consecutive calendar months of user-entered energy
data must be present for all active energy meters in the facility.
If there is more than one energy meter, these months must be overlapping.
No individual electrical meter entry can be greater than 65 days during
the 12 month evaluation period.
At least 11 full consecutive calendar months of user-entered space
attribute data must be present for at least one primary space in the
building.
The following information is required for a Hospital Space.
