Family Self-Sufficiency Training Grant

Converse County single parents with qualifying low-to-moderate income will be able to receive comprehensive life skills training free through a new grant titled Family Self Sufficiency Training. To receive assistance, students must be willing to attend mandatory classes involving: Personal Finance Management, Employment Training, Parenting Classes, and Cent$ible Nutrition.

20 applicants only per session
Second session begins Mar. 1, 2010   Applications due Feb. 19, 2010

March 15 - 19, 2010 - Personal Finance Management Class, , 3-5 p.m. @ CANDO, 130 S. 3rd St.
                        with Marie Yahnell, Converse County Coalition Against Violence 358-6148.
April 7, 2010 - Cent$ible Nutrition, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. @ Fairgrounds: Extension Office 133 West        Center. (April 7,14,21,28 May 5,12,19)
April 8, 2010 - Cent$ible Nutrition, 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. @ Fairgrounds: Extension Office 133 West        Center. (April 8,15,22,28 May 6,13,20)

WyTAPS primary focus is to assist teen parents by helping them complete their high school career through the following:

The Wyoming Department of Family Services provides funding for the Family Self-SufficiencyTraining. This grant is a partnership of Converse County agencies/businesses. These include: Barrett Counseling, CANDO, Converse County Coalition Against Violence, Counseling Services, Douglas Senior Citizen Center, Douglas Workforce Center, Eastern Wyoming College, Glenrock Senior Citizen Center, Kim Cronin USGB Coordiantor, Jane Stearns MS Lpc (Counseling Services), Solutions for Life, Trails Helping Hands Neighborhood Network, Tumbleweed Transportation LLC, and WyTAPS
